DOTD to Conduct Study to Identify Improvements for Hospital Road

NEW ROADS, LA – Michael Schiro, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of Planning and Programming for the Department of Transportation and Development advised The Greater Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce they would initiate a feasibility study to identify improvement alternatives, impacts, and costs for Hospital Road in New Roads. A draft of the report should be available within six months, according to Mr. Schiro's letter.

Mr. Schiro's letter was in response to a letter written from the Greater Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce regarding the parish leadership's concerns about existing traffic conditions on Hospital Road and the prospect of worsening conditions upon completion of the Audubon Bridge. The letter was signed by all four mayors and their police chiefs within the parish, Sheriff Torres, Parish President Melanie Bueche, and Parish Administrator Jimmy Bello.
